Today Ukraine came under a nationwide missile and drone attack from Russia. Four reported killed and more casualties may emerge Unclear why this continues - why can't NATO air defences and planes shoot down incoming missiles and drones? Defensive actions are not escalatory

Dan Sabbagh is right to challenge the consequences of inaction by the many Guilty Men (and women) in the West, ‘relics of appeasement, incompetence and muddle’ who leave Ukraine at the mercy of Russian air strikes. While prattling on about supporting 🇺🇦 ‘as long as it takes’

Left Kyiv 6.20am on the train Another missile attack arrived an hour or so later, aimed at crippling Ukraine's energy supply Was in Lviv at 12 🚂, Krakow at 5 🚗 and London at 9.30 ✈️ It's not happening far away, yet how long will it be allowed to go on? #europe

Pokrovsk. The last days of an empty park. Soon the "Russian world" will touch the city and everything on the photo will cease to exist.

“At the moment, it looks like our front in Donbas has collapsed,” Roman Ponomarenko, a brigade officer at the revered Azov Brigade, wrote on Telegram theguardian.com/world/article/…

Recent developments on the eastern front are indicating serious issues in the Ukrainian ability to control the Russian offensive. The Pokrovsk front has the potential to turn into a larger crisis. In this thread I'll analyze the situation and the reasons behind it. 1/🧵

This is Ukrainian Pokrovsk today. As I visited it three weeks ago, it looked quite different. Damaged, but not eradicated. This is how President Biden and Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz betrayed Ukraine. And: without thousands of donors, Pokrovsk would’ve fallen months ago.

Is that a bombed out Druzbha hotel on the right and a battered Corleone pizza parlour beyond it? These were once considered safe places to stay and east; now the street damage looks even worse than when I was there a fortnight ago #Pokrovsk
