It's just more frustrating this year because there are a handful of roster-worthy players who won't make the team because there's just not enough room. Zion Childress Perrion Winfrey Tyrus Wheat Traeshon Holden James Houston Asim Richards Most of these guys won't make the team.

The fans who are celebrating Joe Milton's struggles because it curb stomps those fans who claimed Dak Prescott's job was in jeopardy are not the kind of fans I want to be around. We should all be pulling for Joe.

I haven't seen Javonte Williams play. I haven't seen Jaydon Blue play. I watched Miles Sanders and Phil Mafah play behind some questionable run-blocking. Despite all that, I'd take this RB group over the dogshit we had last season.

My current assessment of Dallas Cowboys roster battles... DT - Toia IN, Winfrey OUT CB - Hall or Childress, Booth IN DE - Turner or Wheat, Houston OUT RB - Sanders or Mafah, Vaughn OUT OL - Charles or Richards, Cornelius OUT WR - Brooks IN, Flournoy and Holden OUT

I'm really surprised I haven't seen more love for Hakeem Adeniji. It feels nice to have a solid backup RT on the roster. Have we already forgotten how nervous we were with Matt Waletzko and Josh Ball?

I don't know if it means anything or not, but I am impressed with how nobody is just randomly jumping offsides anymore. I hope that continues.

Call it a hunch, but I believe the Cowboys have a gentleman's agreement with some veteran nose tackle who will sign with the team real soon.

I think it would be hard to fit both Jay Toia and Zion Childress on the 53. Space is scarce. The question becomes - which one is more likely to survive waivers and make the practice squad? Most players do, but DT John Ridgeway and DB Julius Wood are recent players who didn't.

Dan Rogers (@dannyphantom24) 's Twitter Profile Photo

And remember, veterans with 4+ years are not subjected to waivers. Players like C.J. Goodwin and Trent Sieg are likely to be released only to be brought back a day later after injured players who made the 53 are placed on IR.

Here are my Cowboys roster battle notes... RB I still believe it comes down to Phil Mafah or Miles Sanders, and I like the rookie a smidge better. OL Hakeem Adeniji is a roster lock for me. I don't know who the last guy is. I'm not seeing what others are with Ajani Cornelius,

It would be much easier to take a side in contract negotiations if we knew what each side was fighting for. If we knew that CeeDee was asking for $34M and the Joneses were pushing back, I'd be on Team Lamb. If we knew that Dak was asking for $63M, I'd be on Team Joneses.

Five years ago, I asked the dot-com crew if Taco Charlton had played his last game with the Cowboys. He was only two years into his rookie deal. While it may have seemed unlikely that they would cut him, that's exactly what happened. He was released a few days later. If you

It's hard for fans to give the front office the benefit of the doubt when all people do is pounce on every morsel of negativity so they can drag them through the mud. Some objectivity would be nice. Contrary to popular belief, their front office isn't as bad as some claim.

Last year, when the season started, I got excited for every Cowboys' game and believed they would come out and play well. However, almost immediately after the game started, I got nervous. It felt like they just didn't have their act together and had an uphill battle. This was

If the Cowboys cut Mazi Smith and keep Perrion Winfrey, it would go a long way in showing us that the supposed top-notch communication of Will McClay and Brian Schottenheimer trumps any draft pick pedigree noise from the Joneses.
