Today I visited Obock -  a region at the crossroads between #Africa & the #Arabian Peninsula. Thousands of men, women & children migrating are transiting through this coastal region of #Djibouti .

Since 2000, the dynamics of global migration have shifted. Our #WMR2024 reveals a trend: the proportion of female migrants has been on a decline.

It’s intriguing to see that male migrants now outnumber females across the board, with one exception: the elderly adult demographic.

Amid ongoing instability, the 🇨🇫 grapples with a complex humanitarian crisis. Urgent support is still needed for over 4 million affected and 520K internally displaced.
