Thought for the day.

If an external review of the management of a private company was as damning as the report into the Bank of England, heads would roll... šŸ˜

Lord Moylan 1688 was certainly a coup & led to a Dutch army of occupation in London for the next 3 years . It was NOT a popular uprising

I had forgotten my favourite OJ Simpson fact (probably my favourite fact), OJ Simpson was a sprinter before becoming an American footballer, he took part in a race in 1967 won by a British athlete who ran under 10.2s for the second time that year

That athlete, Ming Campbell

The Hapsburg contribution to history is one of the most important of any family and even without a throne they still understand the importance of duty and faith. The Archdukeā€™s book 'The Habsburg Way: 7 Rules for Turbulent Times' is an enjoyable read.

The back channel work done by Labour figures here shows how by delaying the election as far as possible and giving Starmer time to consult on planning the Sunak government is doing Labour a favour

The reaction to the Cass Report on the part of elements of the left illustrates an important trend. Science denial is now largely the preserve of radical progressives. The most prominent examples used to be American evangelicals denying evolution, but no more.

The long term appeal of the Monarchy and the British Constitutional Settlement should never be underestimated - it is the great third way between absolutist tyranny and unstable republics which tend to oscillate between both of these unhappy poles.

Once again Catherine McBride nails it.

Namibian beef is world class and produced to world standards. Only racism explains those who argue otherwise. (Itā€™s a wonderful country. Go there.)

Wow, this is incredibly poor. He's relying on a script, and the script is pure legospeak.

His main criticism is that the FCDO is focussed on 'this idea of the national interest' ... and only idea is to change the building. Shesh, hope rest of senior FCDO aren't so hopeless.
