Very interesting talk about reliable flashback table using LogMiner by Daniel Stein . Necessary only because increasing of _rollback_segment_count was not allowed after 2 years discussion. Sad story. #DOAG2021

Setting up a #ricoh office MFC to send scans to Windows via SMB is a very frustrating experience. After four hours, I instead installed FileZilla Pro Server on the target sys. and use FTP. This took less than 10 minutes and the scans end up directly in the file system as desired.

A colleague of mine has noticed some strange behavior of dbms_redefinition. It is possible to get nulls into a not null column during redefinition. Jonathan Lewis / Stefan Koehler : Maybe something to blog about? community.oracle.com/tech/developer…

Today we had a workshop hosted by Stefan Koehler on troubleshooting third-party software using Oracle as an example. He is a wizard. Fortunately more Gandalf than Saruman 😜

I stumbled across the script ash_index_helper github.com/tanelpoder/tpt… It really helped me get a Hibernate application under control that was way too slow. Thanks Tanel Poder 🇺🇦

I've been wanting to start a blog for a while. Tanel Poder 🇺🇦 gave me the final push I needed. Here is my first short post about his Index Helper Script : backendtales.blogspot.com/2023/02/santas… The next post in the pipeline: troubleshooting a problem with the Windows Server stealth firewall.

Just published a new blog post on diagnosing and troubleshooting a crashing business process in a complex environment (AIX/LINUX/Windows) caused by a "#network problem" and "stealth #firewall". Check it out at backendtales.blogspot.com/2023/03/a-shut… #network #troubleshooting #tcpip #jfr #wpa
