Finishing these today. They are a lot of work, but the usable flesh and peel create a delicious juice for jelly. I prepared 4lbs of usable fruit and peels, it's on the stove now. Yes, there's a lot of waste! Insect, bruise, rot, weather damage, etc. And a tub full to do later.

Hell yeah! I did it! All the abandoned orchard apples I had left are juicing, 7 lbs of cooked apple flesh and peel is drip dripping its juices on my counter. Tomorrow I'm finishing with the good apples, the Zestar, Pink Luster, and Macintosh apples, are becoming canned sauce.

This is the last quart of abandoned apple orchard (foraged) juice of 2025! It's pectin-rich, almost syrupy--perfection.

I decided to do a 20 minute epsom salt soak, to reduce the fibro pain I was feeling from doing sauce--I fell asleep in the tub. I usually get bored in there so I had music (Cold's album A Different Kind of Pain,) a candle, then the epsom salts. I better set a timer next time

OMG! My favorite person is back! I could have tackled him when I saw him standing at my door. Sucks that I'm fibro flaring from all the canning and cleaning yesterday. He'll be back in 3 months to inspect my apartment. Oooh so excited!
