Emily Clarke Joanna P. Booth Hopefully you can read Avon Wildlife Trust’s statement and help change the rest of your party’s view on this proposal since it would cause irreparable damage to the only known dormice habitat in Bristol and put all SNCIs at risk avonwildlifetrust.org.uk/blog/george-co…

Sad & contradictory Restore nature? Karin Smyth "Pleased to see Council Leader Tony Dyer move forward with plans to expand South Bristol Cemetery & Crematorium." NO alternative sites considered. Expansion undermines Yew Tree Farm SNCI where bird nests have just been destroyed.

There is also a ridiculous amount of space left in the existing South Bristol Cemetery. I’m guessing you’ve never been there right? It makes zero sense for them to leave a grass meadow inside the crematorium and then destroy an SNCI for burials and drainage for those burials

This is also really interesting because the officers report mentions that ash internments have only a year left of space but their whole argument for burial space was based on the equalities issue for religious reasons so why are cremation remains being prioritised?

Also this comment saying the cemetery is already full is extremely misleading and shows this report and the officers who conducted the investigation are biased. We have seen with our own eyes that there is plenty of room. You can see for yourself here ⬇️

Claiming that burials are being done in areas that never planned to be burials inside the cemetery makes zero sense. Other cemeteries have burials by trees. Why are we reserving land for ‘public reflection’ inside the cemetery but we are destroying a nature reserve next door?!!😡

Bristol Tree Forum 🍃💚🍃 Catherine withers Another misleading statement to add to the list. I’d like to see officers try and get to the cemetery by bus and see how ‘well connected’ it really is. I suspect they have never been here before.

This is the first sign that Labour are going to try to walk the delicate line between deregulation and appeasing developers. Angela Rayner should have said - "no, many people are not safe, and we will be bringing forward measures to force remediation immediately." Very worrying.

How do you read a hedgerow? What can it tell you about past management? How can that help know what to do next? This hedge has gaps, gap planting, old pleachers, signs of a significant reshape and some whips doing their damndest to survive!

From 4 plant species per square metre, we’re expecting 20+ over the next few years! Thank you SO much to all the folks helping me manage the 2ha of Liverpool City Council grassland in Netherley - it’s going a huge way to creating a habitat full of life! 🌱❤️ Richard Byrne Frank Chamberlain

Anyone else getting the feeling it's all about the 6.5K homes? Please feel free to correct me if I'm way off the mark, YTL, and I'll hold you to it. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

I am delighted how many slow worms are living under the dustbin lid in our tiny city centre garden! I have heard that the name for a group of slow worms is a gloss… so look at our glossy huddle! So pleased that there are enough invertebrates to keep them fed and thriving.

"Each of these [drug] deaths is someone’s daughter, someone’s son, someone’s partner, sibling or parent – and I wouldn’t wish that pain of loss on anyone, especially when we could be setting them on the road to recovery" A powerful personal piece from Green Cllr cara.lavan.bsky.social

🚫 1 in 3 people contacted by bailiffs report them breaking the rules, & there’s no evidence that bailiff use increases council tax collection rates. We’ve won this campaign in Manchester. Now let’s win it in Brighton👊

Perhaps he needs to read the report, the fact that it could have been avoided is pretty much the central point. Only someone who’s barely blinked after dragging our country into a war that killed over a million people could serve up a response this ruthless:

Love this reading of a hedge. it's such an amazing skill which Meg demonstrates here. Understanding our environment like this is vital to working with it and preserving biodiversity.
