I would love to see more emphasis on good lighting, compositing, colors etc. in video games. Cinematic VFX still seems miles ahead, and not necessarily from a technical standpoint but an artistic one. Isn't it an extremely effective way to instantly up the visual appeal?

Of course, attributes and nodes in Maya couldn't just have a unique name, instead they must have a short name, a long name, a nice name, an alias, sometimes a DAG path, but don't even think about relying on that, because not all nodes are DAG nodes... Who came up with this? 😅

Would anyone be interested in joining an unreal engine related study group? Maybe a private discord server or something? I miss a school like atmosphere where there are others around. I work at a studio professionally, but you know how restricting it can be at times…

Does anyone know good resources to learn about game framework development with Unreal Engine? Things like game mode, game state, progression, game save, etc. Very interested in what the best practices are for that aspect of game architecture.

I have committed to taking my drivers license in Japanese! Wish me good luck... No more Unreal Engine studies after work for a while 🥲

I'm finally starting to understand unreal engines game ability system. I think good visualizations of it's architecture would greatly help beginners get the concept. Most resources rely on descriptions and code, which took me some time to fully grasp.
