When at the Olympic Museum, choose an Olympian and purchase a book about them! (This is my daughter’s book for the flight home). This was a wonderfully interactive museum.

Last stop on our Rocky Mountain vacation was to Macdonald Book Shop. I like to buy a book when traveling from the local indie and pick up something that was recommended or wasn’t necessarily on my radar. I’ve read some gems this way!

What does a dancing librarian wear to dance class? A book shirt of course! I’ve been back in the studio almost 10 months now. I would love to say progress is being made, but it is slow, slow going. I’m ok with that. I plan to dance for decades more. Plenty of time 😂

We kicked off our staff day with the question "How can we find joy in what we do?" This is a difficult question when the year already feels so complicated, but it is a great place for me to anchor my heart. How will I joyfully library? Let's find out.

My new space has a SINK! A sink, cabinets AND a closet - things I’ve never had in a library space. So exciting! Today begins a new adventure in early childhood librarian-ing (in addition to my home school).

One of our activity choices includes interactive books. Flaps and sound make this a VERY popular choice with the kindergarten crew!

PSA: Your clothes will only get clean if you actually put them IN the washing machine. My tired teacher brain took over last night. I turned on the washer, filled it with detergent and walked away. I now have the cleanest washing machine (but not clothes). 🤣🤣🤣

Today a student noticed that the librarian in our book looked like me (pointing to image #2). As the day progresses I am feeling more like image #3. My new title is “Librarian/Cat herder.” Welcome to early childhood education… I can do this. I have to have patience with myself.
