Fantastic day #3, yesterday, in #Iceland with the UoR - Geography and Environmental Science students. Excellent day of climbing Sólheimajökull (I managed it twice!), learning about the glacial history of the region, and measuring the ablation wires on the glacier to facilitate winter data collection.

After a 5.30am start on #Iceland day 5, the UoR - Geography and Environmental Science students trekked up onto Eldfell crater, before heading to the Eldheimar museum to learn about the 1973 eruption on #Heimaey

Yesterday UoR - Geography and Environmental Science students (and staff) were exploring the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, Geysir, and Gulfoss on Day 6 of their #Iceland fieldclass. Bonus "comedy" photo at the end.

The final day of the UoR - Geography and Environmental Science #Iceland trip, we had a walk around the new eruption at Geldingadalur. Checking out the extent of the lava flow, which is still very hot in places! Unfortunately, not many photos of this one 😅

Our fieldclasses last week were filled with learning, fun and Geography. We want to thank the hard work of all the staff and PhD helpers on each trip 👏 Whether that was in Devon, Scotland or Iceland ⬇️

For anyone that doesn't know, Mendeley desktop is shutting down in 2023. It's been replaced by their Mendeley "Reference Manager" online tool. If you want an alternative desktop reference manager, try Zotero zotero.org
