Temminck’s and Bronze-winged Coursers were a fantastic ‘courser’ double in The Gambia (the latter at the third attempt) but impossible to get any decent images. Temminck’s also hard work in the heat of the savannah but great views of at least 6 birds. Oriole Birding

Great -tailed Grackle perched on my car at Calshot, Hampshire this evening. Undoubtedly a wild bird, but, having presumably hitched a ride on a ship, is currently disqualified from the Cat A of the British List. Eastern Towhee still clinging on by its claws to Cat A though!

OK folks, here's something you don't see every day. Literally. A male Hen Harrier, harassing a Peregrine Falcon, and oh, that just happens to be a Merlin watching the commotion. RSPB RSPB England

I always tell my team that Siskins have high recovery rates and give us good data. Yesterday we ringed 76 Siskins along with 74 Redpolls. This male Siskin was the star of the day though because he was wearing a Swedish ring. We can't wait to find out where and when he was ringed.
