Really enjoyed meeting our new LifETIME-CDT students - but ran before karaoke!

Congratulations Yashna Chabria - i am sure you gave a great defense. Amazing to see LifETIME-CDT students start to finish their PhDs :)

***PhD Opportunity*** "(Inter)Facing mechanotransduction-related aspects of brain tumour cell metastasis and therapeutic resistance" If 1) these key words raise your curiosity, 2) you could imagine to live in Glasgow🏴 and 3) work at the Biomed Engineering , please contact me😊!

Happy to see this work by Hannah Donnelly, Centre for the Cellular Microenvironment’s new Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Fellow published in Nature Communications. It shows bioengineered microenvironments containing mesenchymal stem cells can look after long-term haematopoietic stem cells. Critical for improved blood cancer therapies.

Dr. Hannah Donnelly at University of Glasgow and team provide proof-of-concept that bioengineered niches that recreate physiological ECM organization can support the survival of #CRISPR edited hematopoietic stem cells. go.nature.com/3WgsJ6V

1/2 Scientists University of Glasgow have created the first bioengineered bone marrow model which can support the type of human stem cells that are crucial for bone marrow transplants and in vitro study work 🧬 More ➡️ gla.ac/3Y0wBuj

🚨PhD position available with Matt Dalby and myself, bioengineering the bone marrow microenvironment and more! Please contact me to enquire and share with any keen bioengineers 🦴🩸

Delighted that Centre for the Cellular Microenvironment will lead the MAINSTREAM UK hub for stem cell manufacturing with UoN CfAM and Biomed Engineering.

Incredibly rewarding to see Eva doing well over the years. Very grateful to The Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation for the support. Still working hard to get the technology to human use Centre for the Cellular Microenvironment Matt Dalby

Thank-you Neal L Millar for generously giving your time for a fascinating talk - many lessons for those of us trying to translate basic science to clinical use.
