Spent 9 days touring Brazil on Nuffield International Farming Scholars GFP. Key take homes - nothing beats being there, farming (in general) is done to a high standard. Deforestation & conservation laws are incredibly strict. Honestly unsure if we’re ahead or behind from a production/sustainability POV

Interesting this convo about what other things dairy farmers could be doing. Most of us tried it during quota with surplus land. Beef was great for spell when we got subsidies to compensate for a drop in prices which didn't happen straight away. Became sub collection job. +1

Early days but this data released by the EPA today is very promising. Jan to June '24 river nitrate concentrations from Ireland's major rivers at lowest levels since 2016. Signs the multiple measures undertaken by farmers across the country are starting to bear fruit.
