Fake meat sales 52% down. Told you so. No thinking eater wants to eat the stuff, no matter how hard they try to push it down our throats. The much hyped transition away from meat isn’t going to happen.

Hi all time for one of our Friday polls. If you're growing maize silage this year what stage is it at ? Please feel free to post your pictures in the comments and location in the UK 🌽

Another forage related poll for our UK followers. With current dry weather is raising concerns over forage stocks. In percentage terms where would you estimate your silage yields so far this year. compared to a "normal" year . Please add comments and location in UK many thanks

A relatively small sample of farmers with 57 votes but thanks to all who contributed. Frightening to see so many forecasting a shortage of forage at this point in the year. Will be discussing potential solutions over coming days.

Thankyou to all who voted in our maize poll. For the majority it looks like maize is well on track and potentially looking at a very early harvest for many. Have seen some very drought stressed crops last few days which is a concern if we see no significant rain in coming weeks

Finally some meaningful rain forecast over next few days. Hopefully this might boost both grass and maize which is looking extremely stressed locally

Cows can’t add a single atom of carbon to the atmosphere that a plant hasn’t previously removed. Carbon is part of a biogenic cycle and can neither be created nor destroyed. People who try to frame cows as causing climate change don’t understand how science works. 1/2

Who needs iPads and gaming consoles when you have wildlife to photograph and video in the wildlife garden. My two 10&8 have had a busy couple of weeks so far counting butterflies, bug hunting, and photographing deer, toads , pheasants, red kites and wood mice 🙂
