Artig karikatur, men politikere med mastergrad kan også være bra. Problem med plagiat kan unngås ved å bruke mer tid på å lære seg håndverket, være etterrettelig og å lære av andre kilder på gode og oppriktige måter. Opplysning er bra, ikke minst for arbeiderbevegelsen.

It is nice to teach political theory, and it is getting more interesting with textbooks that now include global perspectives. I am using the latest edition of Heywood’s book on political theory, which includes a detailed discussion of settlercolonialism and related things.

One of the drawbacks in the literature on political theory is that the conventional scholarship does not seem to know much about Ambedkar’s work on democracy and caste in India. But those who are interested in learning about him should be able to pick up some ideas.

Bhimrao Ambedkar was born on 14 April 1891, and his birthday is celebrated across India and overseas. I trust many are getting ready to visit and garland statues of Ambedkar to celebrate his birthday, like here.

There have been published several new books on Ambedkar and his work. I have read a couple of them recently and I hope to continue the reading. The next one on the list probably Ashok Gopal’s long and detailed book “A Part Apart”.
