Taking a crack at making my own #Fragrance … quite promising 😆😅

#SOTD Tonka Latte swirls the warmth of roasted coffee with milk,velvety tonka bean, and a whisper of almond & spice into a fragrance that evokes sondering at a street café in Paris at sunset —steam rising from your cup, watching life pass by through the golden, crisp autumn air.

What does it say abt me that while many people find this animalic oud too pungent, unwearable, offensive even… I find it so primal and raw, it makes me literally -I kid you not- …. horny? 🙈

At home on this quiet Saturday I’m giving this a full wearing for proper evaluation. Some describe the oud here to be too pungent & animalic. I dont find it so at all. It’s bold & musky, yes, very masculine, but the ‘scent aggression’ is tamed with just a hint of rose & vanilla

It’s becoming cliché for me to keep calling (almost all of) Quentin Bisch’s creations masterpieces, but here we are again. Absolutely astonishing oud-patchouli-leather beast that is as beautiful as it is longlasting. It’s a very western oud, noticeable & commanding but not harsh.

If you love ambery musks, you will love this one. It’s projection is around 6ft but it lasts more than 24 hrs on clothes. The musk is extraordinary here and I dare say it’s real deer musk, amplified by spices like cloves and cinnamon on top of incense and mild florals. Gorgeous.

A gorgeous green chypre. The floral & blackcurrant notes are there, but play second fiddle to the green mossy freshness of the composition. There’s also an earthy petrichor facet, recalling images of walking in an English country garden in full bloom, just after the morning rain

My #SOTD. The latest in Amouage’s Library Collection. It’s a delightfully woody frag with Sandalwood at the core,made fresh & ‘clean’ with juniper, pink pepper & lavender. There is similarity with Decision probably from the cardamom. But the drydown is different. Still excellent.

Can’t believe I’ve never shared this one.The best in the Bottled series, Absolu is a potent masculine ambery-leather-tobacco work of art. It’s the most ‘niche’ fragrance to come out of a designer house in recent times (launched 2024). A scent that screams character & distinction

#SOTD Xerjoff’s Erba Pura (2019). It’s a fruity amber. Strong and long lasting.I don’t use it often is coz it’s a bit too sweet. A rather youthful, clubbing scent. Amber-vanilla drydown but opens fresh with citruses & fruits . I hv the old velvety bottle. New one is just lacquer

For quiet evenings at home I enjoy nice floral fragrances. Delightfully calming, they’re perfect for winding down with tea & a good book! Carmina is a robust rose & peony scent, opening with a flash of sour cherries before the flowers bloom. Dries down to a floral musk. 6-8 hrs

I’ve bought so many new fragrances since my last post. But I’ve been too busy tak menyempat nak buat post baru. Life keeps happening man. The hobby is alive and well, it’s the posting that’s taken a hit🙇🏻‍♂️

Finally got Afrika-Olifant. A must-have for fans of animalic fragrances: civet, castoreum, ambergris & musk all in one. Not mass-appealing, but if this is your vibe, it’s pretty addictive. Sexy & sultry. Not an everyday wear, but when you do… it definitely grabs attention!

Finally gave this one a full wearing and god, what a stunner! A nuclear chypre with a zesty bergamot & coriander opening that teases a floral and spicy heart before settling into the cedar, oakmoss, patchouli & fir base for the long haul. Fresh but hefty all at once. Beast mode!

Back to perfumes now… “Masculinifying” MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540. Is it even possible? Yes! But needs subtle layering. Key is adding a phallic edge to the scent without sacrificing the BR magic.
