Congratulations, Eilysh Thompson! 🎉🥳💃 Your first PhD paper, now published in #AustralEcology. 'Interspecific variation in the diet of a native apex predator and invasive mesopredator in an alpine ecosystem' onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ae…

What makes me deeply sad about endangered Greater gliders is that as tree-dwellers they’re immune from the two biggest threats to Australia’s mammals, feral cats & foxes. That should make them easier to save. Just stop logging native forests & act on climate! 😢Photo:Josh Bowell.

Hot off the press, the first paper from Tom Bruce's PhD thesis. Feral cats are common and widely distributed in the Australian Wet Tropics, thus a serious management issue for the endangered/endemic species in the region. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ec…

In 1859, Thomas Austin imported 24 rabbits from England to Australia. Little did he know that these rabbits would trigger one of the most devastating biological invasions in recorded history. Our paper at PNASNews, tells this story: pnas.org/cgi/doi/10.107…

Excellent story about my PhD student Alexandra Paton research on the effectiveness of different lures for capturing images of Tasmania’s native wildlife. Great work! tinyurl.com/3dhrwytj

My first PhD chapter got published in Ecological Applications last month! 🤯 We investigated contemporary susceptibility to the amphibian chytrid fungus in an endangered rainforest frog. 🐸 With David Newell, Laura Grogan, Hamish McCallum, and Catherine nock. doi.org/10.1002/eap.27… A 🧵

Excited (and saddened?) to share a new study with Lyrebirdlab linking cultural diversity in the Albert's #lyrebird to #habitatfragmentation. Individuals with less habitat availability mimic fewer species, despite most species occurring in all study sites. doi.org/10.1111/ddi.13…
