So Labour borrowing albeit provisional for the 2024/5 financial year some £23 Billion (Reeves black hole) higher than OBR October view and £13 Billion higher than their March review. Got to applaud Labour - they know how to make things worse.

Disappointing results for Conservatives suggesting Badenoch isn’t winning support yet…Will she be given time? As for Labour, they need to stop their ideological approach and Govern for all the people…Starmer needs to get a grip. Reeves, Phillipson and Milliband are terrible.

I’m pleased Starmer is confident the economy is improving….however, if a 30 year Gilt now requires 5.4% yield attached to it whereas under Sunak a similar 30 year Gilt required “only” 4.8%, then I have concerns he is being wholly truthful…

Pete The Rest Is Politics Jacinda Ardern ALASTAIR CAMPBELL Rory Stewart I had a friend based in Singapore (strong Covid response), her mother fell ill and she went home. She had to quarantine for 2 weeks (this was not early days) even with negative tests etc. watched her Mother die on Zoom and funeral on Zoom. Jacinda was the devil to her.

"Transformative £86 billion boost to science and tech to turbocharge economy" 🤔 More baloney - this is a *freeze* on R&D spending in real terms - but we'll be seeing a lot more of these claims in the #spendingreview... 🙄🧵 gov.uk/government/new…

I’ve thought a lot about whether it’s the right thing to talk about Rachel Reeves crying at PMQs. Because crying is not something we should be ashamed of, or something we should be judged for. Because crying is something associated with women - and in particular this misogynistic

Great to see Labour fawning over F1. Assume they realise that Hamilton, Norris, Russell all live in Monaco so all that lovely tax revenue from the British drivers doesn’t help “working people”….but a great photo op.

So Lammy gives Singapore £70m. Let’s check the state of the two countries. He should explain to the “working people why he’s so stupid. We in UK borrow £140-150bn a year currently or around 5% of GDP…. Singapore recent statement on their budget.

Sunak left inflation at 2%…Starmer and Reeves have increased this to 3.6%….latest comparison France 0.8%; Germany 2%; EU 2.2%. Fixing the foundations….well done Labour. For reference when UK hit 11.1%; EU was 11.5%.

So Israel bombing in Syria, didn’t David Lammy just visit there and the UK government start to send back those who came to UK as it’s safe to do so…?

Good to see Labour getting into the top 6 in Wales. Suspect the local Labour Party will try and distance themselves from him any day now.

England and Sweden converted 5 out of 14 penalties, but at over 35% this is ahead of the Labour vote share at the 2024 General Election…which gave them a landslide and mandate to screw employers, pensioners, private schools, rig the election allowing kids to vote…

I own a small number of shares in Barratt Redrow. Notwithstanding some remediation costs house builders face, they are down 25% over the last year. With Labour committing to build, it seems the analysts and investor community don’t believe them,.,their shares should be flying.

When inflation dropped from 3.0% to 2.8% and then to 2.6%, according to Rachel Reeves it was proof Labour’s “Plan for Change” was working. Now having increased to 3.5% in April, 3.6% in June, 3.8% July..no posts on X as “Plan for Change” clearly isn’t working.

Jonny Reynolds asleep for the Bioethanol tariff and now JCB (and others) caught by unexpected 25% tariff on their goods. And somehow they manage to include “money in people’s pockets”…. Stupid and incompetent.
