Recently accepted paper on a patient with angle closure 2/2 NVG that was only diagnosed after recurrent IOP spikes occurred during hemodialysis. 1st patient I ever used a Tonopen on! Great work by future ophtho resident Ayodele K. Maja (Ayo)!!! 💪🏽 #ophthotwitter sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
.UIowa Eye resident physicians recently volunteered to perform 4 no-cost cataract surgeries for patients of the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic, with faculty supervision. “Operation HawkEyeSight" was made possible by an Carver College of Medicine grant intended to address health care disparities. 💛

#Ophthotwitter I wanted to share some of the outreach work our team has been working on UIowa Eye University of Iowa. I am proud of the work and progress we have made. For context: we won a $100,000 grant to address Health Disparities in our community. Here is what we did, a thread (1/n):
Had a great time interviewing on my friend Frederick Burton III, MD’s podcast No Scrubs Scrub Club recently! Always a privilege to have the opportunity to motivate others into pursuing their dreams of becoming a physician! UIowa Eye #BlackMenInMedicine youtu.be/IOLdduJjNHM
