BREAKING: Airports across parts of Asia including Nepal, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong have tightened health screening for travelers from India after a Nipah virus outbreak in India's West Bengal state.

A doctor warned that the fatality rate of the Nipah virus is extremely high, and that early symptoms of infection can resemble common illnesses, making detection difficult. However, the Philippines is prepared following its updated guidelines issued just three years ago.
