Seeing Lucinda Brand descending always brings back the memories of the scariest ten minutes of my life :) I never liked descending on the back of the moto and so with my driver, we agreed that we'd always go ahead of the race by a few minutes and descend in peace. ... 1/

2015 Giro Rosa, I think stage 8? Lucinda Brand up on the front, a minute or so behind her a group of chasers. It was the final climb and then a fast descent to the finish. The signs said that the top of the climb was still 2km away, so waited for the chasers for a a few pics. 2/

The problem was that the end of the climb was not 2 but just 1 km away, so Brand already started descending. I had a choice - either miss the finish or go after Brand. Missing the finish was not an option, so we had to catch up to Brand, overtake her and beat her to the line. 3/

My driver, Chris said, ok, don't be afraid and then he went full gas. We spent a few minutes behind Brand before we could overtake her safely and I was in complete awe how insanely fast she was descending, how she was using every cm of that of the road. 4/

At the end, it was all ok, we got the finish line before Brand but I was shaking and vowed never to sit on a motorbike at a bike race ever again. Obviously, next morning, I was back on the moto but I never got really comfortable on it.

Solidarity to Gareth Dennis for raising legitimate safety concerns about Euston station, it’s disgraceful that Labour’s Lord Hendy responded by getting him fired. Euston is so bad it has caused disabled people injury & deters us from making journeys using it.

There are so many scofflaws out there, but, frankly, it's so easy to bring them to justice ... with just a little #criminalmischief.
