Anyone remember this news from Surrey Highways ? Well… Turns out, as with much of the Council’s active travel policy, supportive words were followed by inaction. Asked how it had been spent, turns out having done the PR, the “ambitious programme” received £0 from the Council

It could be the perfect moment to try riding your bike for short errands and local trips. Save fuel for those who need it and you'll get to enjoy and explore your neighbourhood too. For short journeys, #BikeIsBest theguardian.com/business/2021/…

So it's not either van or bike, you can use both as this 'white van man' explains. "Horses for courses." Interesting to hear him say how he cuts through road congestion on his cargo bike. bbc.co.uk/news/av/busine…

This just shows the power of paid lobbyists, lots of car manufacturers were at cop26 and cycling and walking were barely mentioned until the last minute. We can't generate enough electricity to convert last numbers of cars to electric this decade.

Enabling people to make short journeys by bike, rather than by car, helps create more space for everyone. Creating networks that prioritise walking and cycling also reduces congestion, pollution and boosts public health #BikeIsBest

Imagine if we did this country-wide What would the impact be on the health service? What would the impact be on the climate? What would the impact be on quality of life? I think we should find out.

In Farnham Farnham today at the end of a year that saw 2 road deaths and 1 lady lose her leg due to cars in a small town of just 35000 people. Shall we talk about how all cyclists need number plates (yawn) and need to be regulated? Or should we talk about the new UK Highway Code

Mail Online and its readers have meltdown over picture of cyclist riding perfectly legally on road Website’s coverage of rider #cycling next to unfinished cycleway also incorrectly suggested it cost £150 million – when in fact it was £1.12 million road.cc/289293

And space really is the 'final frontier'. Please tell your local councillor that you want the option to travel without a car sometimes, before 24th March when the future of Farnham's transport will be decided fb.watch/jlQdFf2-79/
