In the spring of 1985 we padlocked the front doors of Hamilton Hall, renaming it Mandela Hall, and encamped on the steps for three weeks. Columbia divested from South Africa in the fall of 1985.

Following the occupation of Hamilton Hall, Columbia University is officially on lockdown. It is unclear what this means for those who rely on a meal plan or health services. I guess we’re all interim suspended now… 🥴🥴

Students at Columbia University have occupied Hamilton hall. Today the university president explicitly said to students the school would not be divesting and threatened to suspend students protesting. The last time this building was taken over by student protesters was in 1968

Palestinian students at Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany received an email from the school that they’ve been recategorized as “stateless” due to governmental “changes in the statistical requirements.”

Germany no longer recognizes Palestinian as a nationality.

Fun fact: Columbia’s School of General Studies made an exception and REFUNDED THE TUITION OF IOF SOLDIERS who left Columbia to fight in Gaza after October 7th, after the refund deadline had already passed.
