The UK maintains the second highest rate of VAT on tourism in Europe and is the only European nation which does not apply a reduced rate of tax or special dispensation for tourism services. The Treasury must stop damaging the industry by imposing an uncompetitive rate of VAT.

touristtaxnow UKHospitality Surveys show guests ARE deterred if price sensitive & UK is 140 out of 141 tourism markets for most expensive and least competitive. Surveys also show visitors paying a tax spend less in local economy. And finally, surveys show overwhelming majority of Scottish biz don't want it.
