Do you make physical objects, animations, poetry, images or 3d worlds to try to explore, explain and research mathematical concepts? We are looking for papers on the skill and craft of the diverse ways advanced mathematics can be perceived. think.taylorandfrancis.com/special_issues… #mathart

The 48 regular polyhedra, a lot of lovely geometry from jan Misali (janmisali.tumblr.com) youtube.com/watch?v=_hjRvZ… Thanks to this I realised that this Curvahedra object is the Petrie dual of an icosahedron. I think most of these 48 would have interesting models. Anyone want to have a go?

jan Misali (janmisali.tumblr.com) Curvahedra Though of course the limit of things lying flat no longer holds so there might* be more like {3,7}. *I do now think there is a proof as to whether it can be extended indefinitely, the number of triangles at a certain distance will grow exponentially with distance.

Construction going well on a giant metal curvahedra for UofA Honors College (joint work with Emily Baker and Carl Smith, being constructed at Modus Studio thanks to David Gearhart). #mathart
