Hey Steve Barclay I see you've had a 31.7% pay increase since 2010. Why are you worth over £20K per year more now, compared with a decade ago, but #Juniordoctors aren't? @Doctors_Vote Dr Robert Laurenson @BMA_JuniorDocs

A junior doctor negotiating to get paid £19 is unrealistic, militant Whilst Matt Hancock think he’s worth £1500/hour @KwasiKwarteng think he’s worth £1250/hour 🙃 #JuniorDoctorsStrike #BMA #nhs

Dear Steve Barclay, please don’t peddle the lie that The BMA has placed preconditions on negotiations. They haven’t and neither should you. It’s time for you to grow up, get around the table and negotiate. What could be more important in your in tray?

Pay restoration not happening doesn’t mean ££ saved. There’ll just be a mass exodus Doctors are educated enough to do simple maths. Those who are striking are doing so not out of greed but as a last ditch attempt to preserve a functioning NHS. Goodwill doesn’t pay the bills

We often underestimate the emotional & physical impact of being a doctor in the NHS. We have to 'switch off' to crack on with the job list & next shift on the rota, waiting for the next day off. No wonder why our humour is so dark, probably coming from all the suppressed trauma.

I just told the Health Secretary that restoring the pay of Junior Doctors is totally affordable. Restoring their pay would cost around £1 billion per year. That's less than half the cost of the giveaway handed to the super-rich through the non-dom tax avoidance scheme.

Will our patients accept this..? “NHS Doctors say, people need to accept that their care is going to be poorer” Bank of England economist says people need to accept they are poorer bbc.co.uk/news/business-…

As my AMU colleagues would say, treat the patient, not the CRP “…while it would be "painful" for workers to accept that prices would rise faster than their wages, he added that some "moderation of wage rises" was needed to prevent inflation..” rb.gy/n8yxn #bma
