Pakistan will try to project this as a victory, but it would be a super hard sell. On the balance, Pakistan has been pummelled. To the extent a nuclear weapons state can be pummelled. Of course, much more analysis to be done once the debris is cleared, literally and otherwise.

Just a matter of time before this rogue state sends more terrorists to India. #4 below clearly hints at that. India should have the resolve to take matters to a logical conclusion.

The question of third party mediation on “Kashmir” does not arise. Not one bit. We did not agree to that when we were far weaker (1950 to 2000); it is laughable that we will agree to that now. As to Pakistan, we will play the long game: our options envelope is much bigger now.

None of the Kidwai thresholds were breached by India after Pahalgam. What changed? Nuclear thresholds are not optimisation exercises that one can say x*>x is a breach. Beliefs matter: 🇵🇰 was successful in making 🇮🇳 leaders think thresholds were low. Those beliefs have changed.

Woke up and saw that Pakistan DGISPR presser. Have seen so many press conferences but none so delusional. Indian armed forces hit Pakistani military assets at will. There is extensive evidence for that: pictures, satellite imagery, videos. Not a peep on that.

Terror and talks cannot take place together; terror and trade cannot happen at the same time; blood and water cannot flow together: Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Just few min after Trump declared permanent ceasefire, Modi said Operation Sindoor is new normal and operation has not been stopped, just been paused; will continue at higher scale on our terms depending on Pak action He added, any talk will only be about PoK, nothing else Good

No talks with Pakistan except on terrorism and the return of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). Direct and blunt message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Super speech by the PM. Clearly laid out everything - the evil at Pahalgam and the trigger for Operation Sindoor; what the operation achieved across every dimension, and its implications; and the future direction of policy towards Pakistan and terrorism. THIS is what we needed

One wonders if there is any difference between different US administrations when it comes to needling India? Democrats did that by asinine claims about “democratic backsliding”; the current one is indulging in random shelling. Both are equally destructive. Result: loss of trust.

Pakistan: an irrational country. I examine the assumptions behind its response to India in rational choice terms. There was no link between its military means and political objectives. The latter were undefined; the former were impotent. Open Magazine openthemagazine.com/cover-stories/…

Viewed from any perspective—loss of territory, personnel and the waning of ideological appeal—Maoism in India is now close to an end. The death of Nambala Keshava Rao is a defining moment in that process. Open Magazine openthemagazine.com/feature/the-la…

Bastar + Kondagaon removed from list of LWE affected districts. Never thought this day would come in my life. Sukma & Bijapur will join them, soon. PS: time to buy some land in Chintalnar and stroll along the banks of Chinta Vagu. Clean air + forests, the definition of good life.
