We’re already seeing disruption from strong winds, with power cuts and road closures, but it’s likely to get worse through the night - so please try to avoid travel if at all possible (and remember disruption to travel and power supplies might continue through tomorrow morning).

Hopefully, Storm Jocelyn will be a little tamer than Storm Isha, but please don’t underestimate her……….we’re expecting rain for most of the day, with the winds getting stronger through to the evening……..with Yellow Weather Warnings in place.

Cumbria Constabulary has put in place a dispersal order for Carlisle on Saturday (10 Aug). A dispersal order was used on Wednesday evening (7 Aug) to assist officers in maintaining order in the city. The powers will be used again on Saturday. More: orlo.uk/12LY7
