today’s poll is a fun guest question. suppose you had cracked your car windshield a year ago, but your insurance did not cover it. six months ago, however, you switched to a plan with full glass coverage. would you make a claim against your new insurance plan to replace it?

so this is a matter of some debate amongst all members of my household. and no, there will be no cowardly middle option or opt-out, don’t even ask. bananas. are they:

i said something to my wife last night that left her stun locked for minutes. she simply could not believe what i had said. i had said that ghosts were “magic,” where she believed they were instead a non-magical supernatural phenomena. what do you think, are ghosts “magical”?

Let's suppose you had a very close friend, but due to life circumstances you hadn't talked in 20 years. When you go to reach out, their old email addresses and phone numbers don't work, but a Google search finds their home address. Would it be too weird to send a letter?

suppose I have a radioactive particle with a half-life of 10 years and I've been carefully holding it in my hand, undecayed, for the last 7.5 years. what is the probability that this particle will decay over the remaining 2.5 years?

suppose we lived in a world where people could constantly swap bodies with other people, and you never necessarily knew who was in the body that you were talking to. in such a world, how would you conceptualize what makes a person e.g. when you’re talking to them?

my discord is warring about this very question; i was shocked to even learn that people did it differently than myself. when you take pills, do you do:

it’s been a while since i’ve posted here but i’ve got a bit of a #SeriousIssues thing going on. are a “sleepover” and a “slumber party” the same thing?
