Going into hour five of one of the biggest blackouts to hit Cuba. Havana eerily quiet. Only the most privileged have generators, enough fuel to run them. No stoplights working and few cops directing traffic. Cubans know blackouts all too well but this one feels different.

BREAKING: A three-judge federal panel in Miami has unanimously rejected the State of Florida’s attempt to dismiss a landmark lawsuit challenging the legality of congressional and state House districts in South and Southwest Florida.

The suit, brought by Cubanos Pa'lante, Engage Miami, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Club at Florida International University (FIU), and four local residents, argues that the districts were racially gerrymandered in violation of the U.S. Constitution.

Congratulations Cubanos Pa'lante and ACLU of Florida for having the Florida House of Representatives and Secretary of State Cord Byrds objections be dismissed and allowing 8 gerrymandering cases to continue. This is a great step forward for voting rights in Florida.
