I’m so grateful to wake up each day wearing the hat of Noblesville’s chief advocate. Most Thursdays, that means a trip down 32 to City Hall. Today, it meant jumping in the car and heading 230 miles south to Evansville.

I had breakfast with some rock-solid local leaders — talking through real solutions for the real challenges our communities face. While Washington can’t seem to keep the lights on, cities and towns are doing the work: feeding families, paving roads, and clearing snow.

I also bumped into an old friend of mine, Andy Crouch, in Jeffersonville. On the surface, City of Noblesville and Jeffersonville each have their own flavor — but both love summer concerts in the park and both proudly call a river a major asset.
