Where do Connecticut planners get trained? In CCSU's geography program, or out of state in programs such as UMass, Tufts, Rutgers, Penn, Columbia, Ohio State, and UCLA.

Many of Connecticut's educational institutions have programs that touch on planning. Trinity will begin a graduate certificate in planning program this year.

Attending an accredited planning program teaches students what they need to know to become practicing planners- and facilitates the path to becoming AICP certified (a value for employment).

Cultivating an academic commitment to planning in Connecticut goes hand in hand with rebuilding state planning capacity.

Yes! CCAPA's"Start With Planning" platform, developed in 2018, calls for a true Office of State Planning to conduct planning and promote consistent policies across state agencies.
