The Alberta government quietly updated the substance use dashboard today. It is now current to end of October. 2021 has officially been the deadliest year for drug poisoning here (even with 2 months of data still left to report). 2020: 1351 deaths. Jan - Oct 2021: 1372 deaths.

3 people I went to high school with, who don't use drugs regularly, have died from fentanyl poisoning since I graduated in 2015. i'll say it louder for the ppl in the back... the overdose epidemic is not limited to those with addictions/who use to stay well!!

I, too, stand with students calling for action to address harassment on campus. It's "EDI Week" across the University. Can we claim to value equity, diversity, and inclusion when a student here continues to be a victim of harassment clearly rooted in racism and homophobia?
