Sources tell Forbes SportsMoney that Messi's PSG contract is for 2 years plus option for 3rd and will pay him an estimated $75 million in salary plus bonus and cut of rights, which will see that he is the highest paid player there, and still one of the top paid athletes in the world.

For some perspective on immediate impact Messi will have at PSG, Juventus sold $61 million in Ronaldo jerseys within 24 hrs of his transfer there in 2018. PSG opened a store in soccer-loving Los Angeles this past May. There should be a line out there today.

Messi's move could ultimately help PSG keep Mbappe when his contract expires next summer. Why wouldn't the 22-year old phenom, considered the Messi/Ronaldo heir apparent, not want to play alongside Messi and Neymar, who is on contract until 2025, for a couple years?
