Great review on GPe complexity and function from Connor Courtney, PhD and the Chan lab. Very timely, the Choi lab recently had 2 papers accepted on GPe astrocytes and arkypallidal neurons in reward-seeking behaviors, stay tuned!

GPe neurons are uncorrelated, but in PD become oscillatory & correlated, allegedly disrupting independent channels thru the basal ganglia. Our new preprint, w/ the Wilson lab, shows how phase response curves of independent GP neurons driven by sinusoids predict these correlations
