The best thing about working with ChatGPT is that when it's a fucking useless idiot that writes terrible fucking code I don't mint being angry at it. Finally deleted all it's shit and got blender going so good. ❤️

Well I guess I'm donating 500€ to Blender 🔶.

Blender LTS + ChatGPT + Cursor is amazing. It took me a month to write baking the first time. A week the second time. This time it took me half a day.

Upside down lightmaps are one of the small delights of this job. It's the glitch art you get after 6 hours of smashing code, and means you're a single bitflip from finishing the job.

Bit: Flipped.

I have voxels baking running against Blender now. It will take a few more hours to prepare up the production infrastructure and stress test it.

The lightmapping uses a very inefficient packing algorithm I wrote back in 2019, I'll make a note to update it in a few weeks, that should massively increase the lightmap resolution for no extra memory pressure.

Not entirely sure why some of these faces are inverted - have to have a bit of a think.
