Great insights here. Hand tracking and 3D design in general is in its infancy - more of these types of thoughts need to be turned into tutorials, videos, blogs and guidelines

#openxr used to be the future, but it’s available & viable today: build something once and deploy it to multiple headsets (having said that, we’ve found that running an app built with Oculus’s Interaction SDK & OpenXR does not running on anything but Quest)

Finally the day has come where hand tracking can become further democratised. The Leap 2 offers great performance that will only get better as the software evolves with regular updates.

There are lots of options for building #handtracking content for #XR in Unity - how do you know which one is for you?

During the #Ultraleap days, we always argued that IR was best for hand tracking. Companies didn’t argue against it, but the camera architecture and BOM cost were the issue. Even more so for companies that want to own the full stack. Meta owns the full stack and can make it work.

A simple but really useful use case - can help me know where best to work, or how best to position extenders
