I've been out cycling in #Rochdale with SaraPontingCRT & @YourTrustRdale to grow a collaborative approach to a cycling project in #Castleton linked to the Lock 50 paddlesports project. Thank you to the lovely Naz for the led ride along the canal. #LifesBetterByWater Canal & River Trust North West

The sun was out for today's Manchester Activity Day. Volunteers were busy removing over 5 one ton bags of litter and unwanted vegetation from the Rochdale Canal through Manchester city centre. The team also worked on lock maintenance by oiling/greasing and painting locks. πŸ‘

Work to replace the top & bottom gates at Lock 69 (Newton Heath) on the Rochdale Canal have been completed. Specialist teams, including joiners, bricklayers & stonemasons, used a 300-tonne crane to replace the 25-year-old gates with new ones. Great work team. πŸ‘
