At the start of my career a wise farmer once told me: Look after the soil and it will look after you! Even more relevant today as we try to produce more food, for more mouths from approx the same land area.

Great news, especially for the HRZ zone, BASF have got registration in Australia for Revystar fungicide, on wheat, barley, oats and canola. With access to a new, more active DMI in a mix with an SDHI, which we're already familiar with, in seed treatment Systiva. More options! 👌

GRDC HYC Project final year Award reports have all gone out to participating growers in the last few weeks. 66 Wheat, 35 Barley and 15 Spring barley. Lots of detailed agronomic information including the pages in the images below from VIC. Food for thought for the 2024 season!

A mild winter followed by a wet spring has seen many UK crops severely impacted by Stripe rust, Septoria Trit and Leaf rust as seen in photo from Cereals 2024 in Herts UK.

NIAB field day - Sutton Scotney nr Winchester UK. Untreated wheat plastered in Sept Trit and Leaf rust in nearly all varieties in wheat trials. Treated plots looking way greener and with high yield potential. Variety resistance definitely providing a big help to foliar fungs!
