Just watched her in One Touch of Venus for my biography of Eve Arden. Gardner was ravishing, and Arden plays well in support, and for once, gets her man.

Reading about Garbo in Kenneth Turan’s new book about Mayer and Thalberg. My review will appear in the New York Sun.

Didn’t make it big in movies, but like my current subject, Eve Arden, she became a huge television star. They appeared in some films together, as I will say in Our Eve Arden, my work in progress.

He would be working on Night and Day soon, which includes my current subject, Eve Arden.
