This is such a huge problem in all sorts of grant applications when the only way for me to do research away from home, in archives and field work is to take my children with me and find childcare whilst there but neither is funded.

To any men reading and thinking, I’m a feminist but giving more (or any) of my time to that kind of unpaid, unnoticed, life-oiling work sounds like an absolute pain in the ass. Yes, yes, it is.
