Collecting willow seeds for the Millennium Seed Project (KEW) at Torrs Warren this week. A very warm day and a very successful one with our 3 target species for this year all achieved at once.

A select band of Hugh, Alex, Tops, Angus and Peter built and filled our new bed today. And yes it was sweltering hot. So Ros turned up for the last hour and accidentally watered everyone.

Another constructive day at the nursery, with Chris making more compost bins. Alex made a mouse-proof bench and sorted out a sprinkler for the raised beds from 'a lot of spare parts'. Extra visits are being made to the nursezry to keep the young trees well watered.

None of the volunteer photos passed the censor this week, so some pictures of Liz’s amazing baking. A big perk of volunteering with Cree Valley on Wednesdays.

All that crab apple and all that guelder rose, plus some carpentry work..... And Liz's wonderful lemon drizzle cake to keep us going.

Lunchtime at the nursery. Alex is having to cut Liz's wonderful Rhubarb and custard cake to spread the portions further. Twelve of us today and Angus managed 2 slices.

Starting on the new, bigger, raised beds on another beautiful day at the nursery. Also, later in the week, checking guelder rose locations at Palnure Burn - accompanied by my friend, Nancy.
