Nick Jenkin For '83 it was advanced. Manual or auto gears. Slow or fast steering turns, engine Revs and heat. The 3D zipped along and you got a sense of speed. Is it the first proper driving sim? Before this I can only think of arcade style driving games. I loved Chequered 🏁

Last Sunday, we shared the story of the reconstruction of a lost TIMEX project: the TENET, a computer network built with ZX Spectrum computers. Due to the significance of the project, we prepared a video that documents it all. youtube.com/watch?v=36qIhs…

40 years ago, CRASH featured this superb Backpacker's Guide to the Universe cover. The level of detail here was incredible, but nothing less than you'd expect from Oli Frey, who is easily the greatest video game magazine cover artist of all time.

Jaz Rignall The first Crash cover which was linked to a specific game...Oli's covers were groundbreaking, and were a huge part of Newsfield's success. It really was the perfect combination when Oli and Roger Kean decided to move into computer magazines.

40 years ago, Crash ran an epic joystick mega-review, which resident artist Oli Frey turned into a fabulous cover featuring the Quickshot II and Competition Pro sticks as giant war machines. Very cool concept, even if the image was very dark and was hard to see all its details.

Updated the ZX Spectrum Games Quiz, added 100 new images and questions. For all those retro fan out there, give it a try: exquizitely.com/quiz/ZX-Spectr… I grew up with the C64 but got to appreciate the ZX Spectrum later in my retro-journey. Certainly a great computer back in the day!
