Breaking up all the bookishness with some nature; Miss Nine and I have been having lots of fun lately growing our own seeds to plant in our allotment this year (rather than getting seedlings from allotment pals). Our living room is a nursery right now, all plants (and books)!

Looking back+forwards as I write my next MIE piece, 'Capital Crimes and Fresh Antipodean Noir', which comes out just before this year's Capital Crime festival. The lineup is superb! I had a terrific time in 2022, exactly what I needed before a tough trip home.

I read YA when 9-11 or so (our library had a big 'young adult' section; from memory it incl things like William Horwood's Duncton Wood books, tho not sure if they'd be YA now), then was reading adult books from 12-13 onwards, Agatha Christie and Alistair Maclean and stuff.
