Our Loxley valley gateway to the Peak District National Park from The Outdoor City - autumn trees surround the slumbering old factories; the national park boundary on Damflask behind them. No place for a money-making land grab. We urge councillors to do the right thing today. #NoLoxleyTownship
We're delighted that the highly unsustainable proposal for a new, car-dependent township in the Loxley Valley has been refused by @sheffieldcitycouncil. Having provided Friends of the Loxley Valley πππ weβd like to congratulate them on their campaign, and also thank Sheffield City Council
Our congratulations to Friends of the Loxley Valley πππ for their superb local campaign - we're proud to have worked with you in helping defeat the Loxley township plans. Bad for the countryside, #greenbelt and the climate! Not to mention Peak District National Park
This was one of the biggest stories this week - but CPRE South Yorks is warning while this fight is won, the battle isn't over thestar.co.uk/news/politics/β¦
Our friends at CPRE South Yorks have sent a lovely open letter to the Loxley valley. They say the #NoLoxleyTownship campaign has been in the best traditions of Sheffield communities standing up for what's right. You can read the letter here on our website: friendsoftheloxleyvalley.com/2020/09/18/couβ¦

Thanks for the kind words. Talking about digging into our pockets though, it's worth remembering that even 'organisations of that calibre' don't run on thin air. The charities who're backing us do need tangible contributions from us all in return.
We have planning experts currently preparing for the examination of the Doncaster Local Plan, and also considering the Green Belt Review of the Sheffield Plan. This essential work costs us money and we would greatly appreciate your support. The Outdoor City Friends of the Loxley Valley πππ
