The tithe is 10% of the first fruits of your labor. This means money for nearly everyone. The idea of tithing, “my time in lieu of money,” is abdication. The church needs actual funding. It needs joyful tithing members.

When somebody is called to the role of elder, they are not entering the highest office of the church, but the lowest.
