Very excited to share results from our lab just out in Circulation, showing the acute effects of cannabis inhalation on MSNA. Big thanks to Jamie Burr and our collaborators from Philip Millar who made it possible, Massimo Nardone, and Jordan Lee. Full text: ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CI…

You'd think #cannabis would have a relaxing effect on the heart, but you'd be wrong. Some really interesting work at #AHA2022 by Christian Cheung (Philip Millar Jamie Burr) showing ⬇️ SNS activity in muscle but ⬆️cardiac function. Full story in Circulation👇 ahajournals.org/doi/abs/10.116…

Cannabis and sport: What athletes and sport organizations need to know. Christian Cheung looks at the significant gaps in the research that must be addressed before athletes seeking benefits from cannabis can feel confident it outweighs the risks. sirc.ca/blog/cannabis-…

Excited to share our latest cannabis work published as a Letter to the Editor in Clinical Autonomic Research! Great pleasure collaborating with Massimo Nardone Philip Millar Jordan Lee as always! Jamie Burr link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Excited to share our latest work published a head of print in Journal of Applied Physiology demonstrating the effects of cannabis inhalation on cycling performance

For a very well-done summary of our recent work looking at the performance effects of cannabis, check out this piece by Alex Hutchinson in Outside Magazine!

Interesting experiment coming out today in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise looking at thermaoregulation during exercise after CBD intake. Certainly an area I think worth investigating, given the evidence that cannabinoids may alter thermoregulation (in rodents, at least). journals.lww.com/acsm-msse/full…

Happy to share our new paper in Journal of Applied Physiology examining muscle sympathetic action potential firing after acute cannabis use pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40380816/

Excited to see the first output of some work I was fortunate enough to become involved with during my time at UC San Francisco. Early results from the CANDIDE trial highlight the effects of regular cannabis use on vascular function. jamanetwork.com/journals/jamac…
