Students in Fire Science/EMT & CSI begin class every day by lining up across the hall from a student from the opposite program. Students shake hands, maintain eye contact & share a little about themselves. Building relationships & interpersonal skills in just 2 minutes a day!

A perks of having different programs under one roof? The opportunity for collaboration! Last week, HVAC tackled the Culinary Arts freezer, with returning seniors mentoring new students on how to clean freezer fan coils and secure PPE to keep themselves safe on the job site.

Heading into that weekend after a successful day of automotive testing. Students rotated through a drive-on lift and a post lift test. This is part of the safety review students complete before deep-diving into maintenance and repair skills. #FridayMotivation

Had the BEST time at Rink Ratz for our first SkillsUSA social. CSI, Fire/EMT, Construction, Auto, HVAC, Cybersecurity, & Nail Tech students & even a few instructors took to the floor. CSI dominated the limbo & splits contests, with pizza & arcade games to finish off the night!

One of the new additions to CTC is our Intro to Robotics class. This one-hour program offers Fort Osage freshmen the chance to dive into entry-level robot construction and programming, giving them an opportunity to explore a potential pathway early in their high school career.

Our Fire Science & EMT program had so much fun helping out Centerpoint Medical Center with their annual mass-casualty exercise last week. Some of our students even made connections with staff and have job shadows lined up to further explore their profession!

Cybersecurity students are taking a closer look at the news and how media impacts their industry. "They read a lot," shares instructor Jim Lumpkin. "Our industry moves fast. They also have to discern what's real and what's not. What's fake? What's someone's opinion versus fact?"
