So many startups just eating AI compute costs with the hopes of their app "going viral" before the money's all gone. 🫠

One of the many things my parent's generation often told my generation that is actual bs: "If you work hard people will notice and reward you for it." Nah, work smart, not hard. Of course you'll have "busy" days but that's different than working hard.

If you... 1. have novel ideas 2. can visualize them compellingly 3. make pragmatic decisions 4. have decent business sense … you’re unusually valuable. Most folks only have one or two—four is a superpower.

AI video still comes off dream-like. I mean, the pixels look right I guess but there's camera movement issues and the camera is often closer than expected and there's not enough variety of shot angles and the lighting is drab. The videos lack personality.

[product design] If a PM says “We don’t have capacity for that now but we’ll do it in a fast follow” you can kiss that shit goodbye.

Something I wish I learned when I was 20: almost no one gets rich just on a wage. Get financially literate and invest. Investment is an exercise in growth over time so starting early is table stakes.
