But it's not true. We spend under 2p in the pound on admin in the NHS, much less than comparable healthcare systems. Five times fewer managers than other conplex organisations. 2/

In fact we take a weird & dangerous pride in how undermanaged the NHS. The public and staff know that undermanaged organisations and businesses fail and underperform. 3/

Without a workforce plan for the NHS, staff shortages and vacancies will continue impacting patient care. MiP join 40 other health organisations calling for this plan to be published. You can't plan health services and treat patients without staff.

Removing management capacity means more patient facing staff plugging the gaps left by undermanagement. It is counter-productive and will not make the NHS more efficient. Peddling these myths will do nothing to improve patient care - it will only have the opposite effect.

NEW 🚨 | Last night Conservative MPs voted for a brazen attack on the right to strike. The House of Lords must send a strong signal to the government next week to rethink its plans. Unions will keep fighting this spiteful legislation. We won’t stop until it is repealed.
